IKA NATIONAL ASSOCIATION USA, INC. 2010 SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The IKA National Association USA, Inc. (IKAUSA) has selected education of IKA citizens as one of its principal goals. With this in mind, IKAUSA Board of Directors established an IKA scholarship fund in 2005 to aid eligible sons and daughters of both Ika North and South Local Government Areas in any recognized Nigerian Institute for higher education or university.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
PURPOSE: The purpose of Ika Scholarship program is to assist Ika students in any Nigerian Institute of higher education with tuition payments. The program offers financial assistance to individuals already enrolled or accepted for admission into a Nigerian polytechnic or university.
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: $250.00 USA dollars to be used toward tuition and fees associated with undergraduate studies.

DURATION: The scholarship is to be awarded for four academic years.
APPLICATION: Applicants must (1) write a letter requesting consideration for the scholarship, (2) provide the requested information under the “Application Form” section, (3) provide an official copy of the students’ academic transcript from the school in which they are currently enrolled, or a letter of admission if not enrolled, (4) submit two faculty letters of recommendation from the school in which they are currently enrolled.
ESSAY TOPIC: “Corruption in Nigeria and Ways to Eradicate It”. The essay should clearly indicate implementable ways of moving Nigeria forward.
AWARD CRITERIA: Applications received will be reviewed by the IKA USA Scholarship Committee and awards will be based on eligibility, completion of application form, verification of submitted documentations and quality of essay. Thereafter, successful recipients will be notified.
All documents MUST be received NOT later than June 15, 2010
